The University of Hong Kong has been recognised by UNICEF Hong Kong as a Breastfeeding Friendly Workplace for 2026–27. The University also received the Ten-Year Commitment to Breastfeeding-friendly Support Honorary Prize of Say Yes To Breastfeeding Campaign in March 2026, in recognition of our sustained efforts to foster a breastfeeding-friendly workplace culture.
The University has long been committed to providing a supportive and welcoming environment for breastfeeding mothers. Several baby care rooms are available across the Main Campus, Centennial Campus, Sassoon Road Campus and other HKU premises, including the Faculty of Dentistry. Each baby care room is equipped with a nursing chair, baby-changing facilities and electrical sockets for electric breast pumps.

About “Say Yes To Breastfeeding”
UNICEF HK launched the ‘Say Yes To Breastfeeding’ campaign in 2015 with the aim of raising public awareness on the needs of breastfeeding mothers. They promote the benefits of breastfeeding, the support of breastfeeding mothers to overcome practical challenges are essential. They also encourage family members and the public to go extra mile in offering support and empower mothers to continue breastfeeding for the better health of both themselves and their babies.
