By Dr. Peier Chen, Founder and Director, WeUs Social Enterprise

This movie screening and interactive workshop aims to foster a gender-inclusive HKU community by enhancing menstrual awareness, dismantling period stigmas, and reclaiming bodily autonomy through hands-on period pad exploration and screening. Participants will gain foundational knowledge of menstruation across biological, socio-cultural, and gender dimensions; uncover the anatomy of everyday sanitary pads to make informed product choices that best suit individual bodies; and engage in discussions regarding bodily autonomy, period poverty, and period equity.

We warmly invite you to bring a few of your regular sanitary pads, along with their packaging. This will help you explore and find what truly fits your unique body and personal needs.

The "Fact vs. Myth" Trivia Challenge

Engage in a lighthearted interactive game testing knowledge on menstrual myths (e.g., material ingredients and historical milestones in disposable menstrual product design)

Experiential Lab: The Deconstruction of Period Pads Experiment

Hands-on Pad Dissection: A guided, step-by-step dissection of user-provided and sample sanitary pads.

Media Screening and Discussion: Period. End of Sentence

A facilitated discussion linking global menstrual justice themes, focusing on period safety, period poverty, and menstrual stigma and movements or mutual aid activities.
