Abstract
As conversations about diversity and inclusion continue to evolve, educators are increasingly challenged to move beyond awareness toward meaningful action. This presentation explores the realities faced by LGBTQ+ students and the ways in which educational institutions can promote affirmation, safety, and inclusion. Through an examination of current evidence and practical examples, participants will gain insights into effective strategies for supporting sexual and gender diversity within classrooms and campuses. The session aims to encourage critical reflection and inspire concrete actions that foster a stronger sense of belonging for LGBTQ+ students.
About the Speaker
Professor Randolph Chan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Work at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research centers around the intersections of minority stress, resilience, and mental health among LGBTQ+ individuals and other socially marginalized populations.
