The Equal Opportunity Unit has been awarded Triple Gold in the Digital Accessibility Recognition Scheme 2024-25. Triple Gold Awards are presented to websites/apps that have won Gold Awards for three consecutive years.

To achieve the "Gold Award" level in the scheme, the platforms should meet all judging criteria (27 for websites) listed under the Gold Category for incorporating basic and key digital accessibility features. These criteria include providing a text re-sizing function, captions for videos, high colour contrast of texts, clear heading and informative links, well-structured contents in meaningful sequence, making website easy to be used with assistive technologies, the option of performing all operations through a keyboard interface.

The Scheme, co-organised by the Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited and the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer, with the Equal Opportunities Commission as the advisor, aims to show appreciation to local enterprises and organisations which have made their websites and mobile apps accessible to everyone, particularly persons with disabilities.
