Do you have a passion for reading? We have something just for you! We are pleased to present to you, the “Book of the Month” –Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982(Cho Namjoo trans. Jamie Chang). 

With the theme of women’s inclusion and empowerment, we are going to discuss this book in “EOSA X Book Club Gathering”, which is co-organised by Equal Opportunity Student Ambassadors and the University Book Club. If you are interested in knowing more about women’s role from a literature perspective, sign up for our event! You are also welcome to bring your own women-themed book and share with us in the gathering! 

Book Summary of “Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982”:

The book depicts the life of Kim Jiyoung as she grows up in an environment where women face discrimination and social judgement. Told through the voice of a colourful character, the story paints a picture of the hardships and endeavours of a woman trying to break free from the constricting gender roles.
