Movie Screening- "The Normal Heart"

Imagine one day, if your friends, your lover is being infected by a mysterious virus, while the government has done nothing, neither on infection control or allocate resources for treatment, how will you react?

Queer Straight Alliance, AIDS Concern and the Equal Opportunity Unit is going to organize a movie screening session on "The Normal Heart", a movie that tells the story of the onset of the HIV-AIDS crisis in New York City in the early 1980s. It takes a look at America’s sexual politics as gay activists and their allies in the medical community which fight to expose the truth about the burgeoning epidemic to a city and nation in denial.

After the movie screening, a sharing session by people living with HIV would be held by AIDS Concern to let the audience understand more about AIDS.

The details of the screening session are as follows:
Movie title: The Normal Heart
Date: 31/7/2015 (Friday)
Time: 19:00-22:00 (Reception will start at 18:30)
Venue: Room 102, KK Leung Building, HKU

Language: The movie will be played in English dialogue with Chinese subtitles; while the sharing session will mainly conducted in Cantonese. If English simultaneous interpretation is required, please email (qsahku@gmail.com) beforehand for further arrangement.

【『常人之心』電影放映會】

如果有一天，有一種神秘病毒出現，你看著身邊的朋友、愛人一個個受到感染，而政府卻對這些受感染者不聞不問，對疫情漠不關心，你會怎樣做？

Queer Straight Alliance將聯同關懷愛滋（AIDS Concern）及香港大學平等機會事務處舉辨【『常人之心』電影放映會】。故事講述在1981年的紐約，愛滋病（AIDS）作為一種前所未見的疾病突然出現。眼見朋友及愛人的生命都被恐怖疾病奪走而政府卻毫無作為，作家兼激進同志運動參與者Ned，力盡一切辦法，希望愛滋病及其感染者得到重視；為著讓愛人活下去這個小小的心願，堅持抗爭到底。

在電影放映完畢後，將會有關懷愛滋主辦之分享環節，請來HIV帶菌者爲大家講述他的生活經驗，讓大家一同關懷愛滋病病人。
