The Equal Opportunity Festival for 2016 will be held from October 27 to November 11 with the theme “Think Differently, Embrace Diversity” focusing on disabilities discrimination and support for students with special educational needs.

The Opening Ceremony and the Inauguration Ceremony for Equal Opportunity Student Ambassadors will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. at SunYat-sen Place. Professor Alfred Chan, Chairperson of the Equal Opportunities Commission, will be the Guest of Honour and Professor Peter Mathieson, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hong Kong, will officiate at the ceremony. The Equal Opportunity Student Ambassadors (EOSAs) will pledge in the witness of the guests and participants. In addition, some booths organized by departments and NGOs including CEDARS, Dialogue Experience, Equal Opportunities Commission, Hong Kong Guide Dogs Association, SAHK, and Silence will be operated during the day.
