Understanding Menstrual Poverty: Cloth Pad Making Workshop
Join Zoe Chan, Co-founder of Free Periods HK, for an interactive workshop exploring menstrual poverty and sustainable solutions. Learn about the challenges faced by those experiencing period poverty and discover how to make your own reusable cloth pad. This hands-on session will empower participants with practical skills and raise awareness about menstrual health and sustainability.
What you will learn:
- Understand the relationship between menstrual products, the environment, and sustainable development
- Learn about eco-friendly menstrual products and how to make reusable cloth pads
- Discuss period poverty, menstrual equity, and local gender issues
After the workshop, participants can choose to keep or give the organic cotton cloth pad they make or donate it to underserved communities. All are welcome.
About the Speaker:
Zoe Chan co-founded Free Periods Hong Kong in 2018 to provide menstrual education and support for disadvantaged communities, including Migrant Domestic Workers and ethnically diverse women.
