The Equal Opportunity Festival 2017 will be held from October 27 to November 10 with the theme on gender issues. "CountMeIn" is the slogan used to tag on the "HeForShe" Initiative. A series of events including talks, exhibitions, and training will be organized during the Festival, with the aim to promote awareness of equal opportunities among students and colleagues.

The Opening Ceremony and the Inauguration Ceremony for Equal Opportunity Student Ambassadors will be held on Friday, October 27 2016 at 12:30 p.m. at Sun Yat-sen Place. Mrs. Stella Lau, J.P., Chairperson of the Women's Commission, will be the Guest of Honor and Professor Peter Mathieson, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hong Kong, will officiate at the ceremony. The Equal Opportunity Student Ambassadors (EOSAs) will pledge in the witness of the guests and participants. In addition, some booths organized by departments and NGOs including Amnesty International Club @ HKU, CEDARS, Equal Opportunities Commission, Equal Opportunity Student Ambassadors, HKU Women in Science and Engineering, and Queer Straight Alliance will be operated during the day.
