Diversity & Inclusion Week: Voices Beyond Silence - Adia's Journey as a Child of Deaf Adults (CODA)
In this engaging session, we are delighted to welcome Ms. Leung Pui Yan Adia (梁佩欣), the author of Hong Kong's first picture book by a Child of Deaf Adults (CODA), titled 沉默的溫度. Growing in a deaf family, Pui Yan will share the joys and challenges faced by CODAs and the importance of Hong Kong sign language in bridging diverse worlds. Now working as a part-time social worker, she keenly applies her knowledge of sign language to help others and more. She also served as a sign language interpreter at the recent Olympics and Deaflympics. Join us for a dialogue with her and gain deeper insights into the deaf culture in Hong Kong and the career of a sign language interpreter.
This sharing session is organised by the Equal Opportunity Unit, and registration will be open on a first-come, first-served basis. All students and staff are welcome.
