Equal Opportunity Unit
The Equal Opportunity Unit (EOU) is the designated office set up by the University with the vision to assist the University in creating an environment which provides equality of opportunities, and which is free of any discrimination and harassment. One of its missions is to promote the awareness of equal opportunity issues among our students and staff. The Equal Opportunity Student Ambassadors (EOSAs) Programme aims to engage students who share our vision to maintain a barrier-free campus environment for all.
Qualities of EOSAs
EOSAs are expected to do well in academic studies and to make good use of their spare time. They should be a group of students who would like to contribute to the general well-being of the student community in the University, and the society in general in respect of equity, diversity and inclusiveness.
Role of EOSAs
Equal Opportunity Student Ambassadors are student leaders who share the vision to maintain a barrier-free campus environment for all. They are expected to
- assist in initiating programmes/projects related to equal opportunity for the benefit of the University community;
- engage in learning processes in organising campaigns and activities; and
- serve as student advisors in promoting the awareness of equal opportunity
