The Forum: Media Portrayal of South Asians in Hong Kong

The Equal Opportunity Unit in collaboration with MUSUBI brings you “The Forum: Media Portrayal of South Asians in Hong Kong”.  This forum will explore the role of media in the propagation of stereotypes and misinformation as well as the potential strength of media as a tool to portray the Ethnic Minority communities in a neutral manner.  The rhetoric on vulnerable and marginalized groups will also be discussed.

Our illustrious panel of guests include, Mr. Yonden Lhatoo, Chief News Editor at South China Morning Post, Ms. Puja Kapai, Associate Professor of Law, and Deputy Director and Fellow of the Centre for Comparative and Public Law at the University of Hong Kong and Dr. Fernando Cheung, Legislative Councillor, Social Worker and retired lecturer.  If you have some burning questions that you want to address or ask regarding how South Asians are portrayed in the news media, do not hesitate to make your way to the Forum.  We're keen to get this conversation started, are you?
