Equal Opportunity AI-generated Graphic Design Competition 2025
Objective
The Equal Opportunity Unit supports the University's commitment to fostering an inclusive culture and promoting equal opportunities for members of the University community. This AI-generated Graphic Design Competition is organised by EOU to raise awareness of the campus community about equal opportunity and engage students to unleash their creativity using generative AI tools.
Themes
The main theme of this year's competition is SEN Support and Inclusive Campus. Students are invited to create a unique graphic design by using generative AI applications aligning with one of the following topics:
1. Join Hands - Learning beyond Disability Limitations
2. Bridge Differences - Embracing Diverse Needs
3. Create Change - Building a Campus of Compassion
Eligibility
All HKU students are welcome. Each applicant can only submit ONCE.

Selected entries will be displayed at the Equal Opportunity Unit’s official Instagram account for online voting in December 2025. The entry with most "likes" will be awarded the "Viewer's Choice Award".

3. Each entry should include a title and a brief description in English. It should also specify the Generative-AI application(s) and the prompts used in generating the graphics.

- Artistic merit and proficiency in using Generative-AI technology to create meaningful design

(Participation in the competition constitutes the entrants' agreement to comply with and be bound by the terms and conditions below.)

Entries cannot be altered or cancelled once submitted.

Entries shall be the entrants' own original work produced with the use of a Generative-AI application that the entrants have legitimate authority to use without infringing any rights.

No political, pornographic, violent, offensive, obscene, indecent or other illegal or inappropriate content is allowed in this competition. The Equal Opportunity Unit shall have absolute rights and powers to reject or disallow entries with any of such contents and disqualify the entrants from participating in the competition and/or receiving any awards without any notice.

Entries must not have been submitted for any other competitions or provided to any other parties for publication.

The Equal Opportunity Unit shall have all necessary rights to utilize the submitted entries for any purposes, including but not limited to the right and authority to modify, translate, edit, use, replicate, or distribute the contents of any of the entries in whole or in part in the future without prior notification or request.

The winning entries will be featured on the homepage and social media platforms of The Equal Opportunity Unit for promotional purposes.

Entrants agree to hold the Equal Opportunity Unit and the University harmless against all claims and liabilities arising out of the display, publication, and promotion or other use of the entries submitted.

A panel of judges appointed by the Equal Opportunity Unit will conduct the assessment and evaluation for awarding prizes to selected entrants. The decision of the judging panel shall be final and binding.

The Equal Opportunity Unit reserves all rights to amend the rules of the competition without prior notification. In case of any disputes, the Equal Opportunity Unit reserves the right of final decision which shall be binding.
