Moving Forward: Complicating Feminism in Professional Fields

[Equal Opportunity Student Embassador-initiated Activity]

On April 11, 2024 (Thursday) we will be hosting a panel discussion titled "Moving Forward: Complicating Feminism in Professional Fields." In the era of the Barbie movie, we seem to be living in a wave of feminism that has transformed, shifted, and perhaps evolved?

Discussing the complexities of feminism, our panel attempts to answer the question: How can fresh graduates go into the workplace to pursue a movement of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) while ensuring professional growth and development?

Our panellists from both professional and academic background will answer this question with an interdisciplinary perspective, and connect research findings, professional experience and personal anecdotes to present their views.

Our panellists include:

Jocelyn Tsao: Family and divorce lawyer at Withers Worldwide
Sumi Gurung: Programme Manager for the ethnically diverse youth education program at EmpowerU
Dr Michael Rivera: Lecturer in Interdisciplinary Studies
Puja Kapai: Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law and Convenor of the Women’s Studies Research Centre
Dr Stacilee Ford: Affiliate Associate Professor of History & Gender Studies
