The Forum: Disability and Barriers to Inclusive Education in Hong Kong
According to the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund, ‘inclusive education’ is defined as the provision of equal learning opportunities to all, with a particular emphasis on support for underprivileged groups. Nevertheless, children with disabilities often face barriers to attaining quality education due to multiple reasons.
A forum, co-organised with Musubi HK, aims to delve deep into the aforementioned subject. As a voluntary non-profit organisation, Musubi HK was founded to build an inclusive community.
Through engaging in dialogue with various stakeholders, participants will have the chance to listen to multiple narratives about the realities of inclusive education from a local perspective, and exchange ideas with a view to contributing to the cause of equal access to educational opportunities for all in Hong Kong.
Panelists:
Ms Phyllis Cheung, Executive Director of Hong Kong Unison
Ms Emily Fung, Project Coordinator of Chosen Power
Mr Jonathan Mok, Resolve Foundation Social Justice Fellow 2020
Ms Trisha Tran, Founder of Hope Share
