A Talk on Web and Document Accessibility

A talk on Web and Document Accessibility, which was organized by the Equal Opportunity Unit, was held on 14 January 2011. The talk aimed to equip participants with the necessary technical knowledge and skills on web accessibility when amending websites. Mr Oscar Cheng of the Computer Centre delivered the talk. Professor Stevenson Fung of the Department of Physics, a screen reader user, also shared his experience. Many staff and students attended this event.

Our websites will need to be accessible by Visually Impaired Persons (VIPs). If a website is inaccessible to VIPs, this could be an unlawful act under the Disability Discrimination Ordinance of Hong Kong.
